Hi Friends… I hope this post finds you all well! I’m sure you know that I have been teaching second grade FOREVER for over 22 years…so I have been teaching the same skills for that long as well. I don’t know about you, but I get bored pretty quickly and I always need to stir things up a bit in my classroom. It is rare that I do the same activities from year to year. I have to change it up, or I will go bat *s%t a little nutty 🙂 Anywhoooo.. I am always on the lookout for new mentor-texts to share with my students and new activities to keep them engaged and FOCUSED….not an easy task! Now let’s have some Grammar Fun using Interactive Notebooks!

I always scour the internet for funny and cute videos to show my kiddos…they always love learning about new concepts when it adds some rap music or something funny. Check out Grammaropolis for some cool videos..some are free, but other videos you need a membership for. Here is a video on nouns…

Grammar Fun Tab-Its® Interactive Notebooks
This year I decided to add a little bit more practice for these skills and incorporate their work in their Interactive Notebooks. I created a new resource called Grammar Tab-Its! Oh BOY! My kiddos LOVED THEM…which = 1 Happy Teacher! We were working on Contractions last week so I whipped out my new Grammar Tab-its on Contractions and they were ALL GUNG HO! I was soooo excited!
They did such a great job on them and they fit perfectly in their notebooks. Next week we are going to be working on Plural Nouns…so I am going to whip out this bad boy!!!! YAY!!
